Description
“Tientos,” the traditional art of rawhide leather braiding, is one of the world’s rare surviving crafts, still practiced in places like Argentina. Using time-honored techniques, artisans hand-braid fine strips of rawhide—often 20 strands or more—into intricate patterns that envelop the knife handle with both strength and beauty.
Rooted in the heritage of the Gauchos, this craft has been passed down through generations, preserving a legacy of precision, patience, and unmistakable style.
This knife features a 14 cm (5.5”) blade crafted from 440 stainless steel, forged in the tradition of Solingen. The full tang construction ensures durability, while the convex edge offers superior cutting performance.
The handle is wrapped in hand-braided tiento rawhide and finished with alpaca silver accents at the bolster and butt, adding both refinement and balance. The entire piece measures approximately 26 cm (10.2”) in length.
It is accompanied by a rawhide leather sheath, designed for practical carry, with rear tabs suitable for a boot, belt, or pocket. Choose between the Fleur-de-Lys or Lizard braid pattern for the handle.
