A traditional tool of the Argentine countryside transformed into a distinctive everyday keyring, this handmade rawhide cattle counter reflects the ingenuity and craftsmanship of the gauchos who shaped life on the Pampas.
Historically used by ranchers to keep track of livestock while working in the field, cattle counters relied on a series of tactile markers for quick, practical counting. Each piece is individually braided in Argentina from genuine rawhide using traditional techniques passed down through generations.
The Natural Tan variation preserves the original character of the piece with ten hand-braided rawhide counting knots. The Ivory variation offers a lighter interpretation, combining braided rawhide markers with alpaca silver beads.
Both designs feature traditional presilla button closures and dual attachment loops, allowing the cattle counter to be carried from a belt, belt loop, saddle bag, travel bag or key ring.
