The gaucho did not simply ride with his recado. He traveled with it.
Shaped by generations of horsemanship across the Argentine countryside, the recado criollo brings together the layers and fittings of a traditional riding set. Textiles, leather and fleece each have their place, assembled with the cinch, straps and stirrups. Essential, Original and Signature carry this tradition through different constructions and finishes.
Essential is built around a saddle-leather lomillo with stainless steel fittings, topped with a synthetic fleece cojinillo. The set includes a sudadera and mandil, cinch and cinch straps, stirrups and stirrup leathers, and a rawhide pegual.
Original and Signature are built around a soft, wool-filled leather basto, with natural sheepskin and the accompanying textile layers, leatherwork, rawhide bridle and reins. Both have a 60 cm (23.62”) basto and a fixed canvas cinch approximately 1.05 m (41.3”) long. Signature has the finer finish. Original is supplied with an iron curb bit (freno coscojero), while Signature includes an iron roller bit.
Stirrup styles may vary according to availability. The natural sheepskin cojinillo supplied with Original and Signature may be white or black, and leather tones may range from light to dark.
