“Tientos” or Rawhide leather braiding, one of the lost art forms found only in a few remaining places in the world, such as Argentina. A braided handle with a decorative pattern has at least 20 strands, sometimes more, of rawhide leather strips that are hand braided together to cover the cuchillo (knife), handle.

This beautiful art form has been passed down through out generations for decades. The Argentines, as well as the Gauchos, have been using these age-old techniques for centuries and with their remarkable skills, beautiful patterns are born! This special piece has a full tang, stainless steel, convex edge knife blade and is 14cm (5.5”) in length. The entire piece measures approximately 26cm or 10,2” in length, with a handsomely braided handle, accented in Alpaca silver at its butt and bolster. Finished with a rawhide leather scarab, sheath blade cover. Scarab has tabs on their rear side for carrying in a boot, pocket or belt. Your choice of fleur de lyse or lizard handle pattern.
